After a long, vicious struggle, Eragon finally dominated the mighty King Galbatorix. It took many years, but in the end Eragon and Saphira were victorious. They managed to save Katrina and kill the Ra'zak. Eragon found a mighty white sword clutched in the roots of the Menoa tree, like hands ready to fight evil. He had gone to Ellesmera for Oromis' and Glaedr's funeral, since they died shortly after Galbatorix and Shruikan did. The sword was the key to the vault of souls located in Helgrind. Inside the vault were hundreds of thousands of souls, who were then released from their captivity. Along with them was the green dragon egg, the last known Dragon alive other than Saphira and Thorn. The green egg hatched for Arya. Arya and Eragon left on the ship towards unknown lands in search for more Dragons. They left behind three eggs in the protection of Murtagh and Thorn. Unfortunately, Arya, Eragon and their Dragons never found their way home.
Nasuada married Murtagh and together they ruled the great land of Alagaesia. Orrin still ruled Surda as King, and was unmarried. The elves started to emerge and settle among humans, inter breeding their species and making half-bloods. The dwarves, however, came out of their mountain homes very little and were content to be with themselves. Everyone seemed happy as the lands blossomed.
Then one fateful day, everyone's lives changed. A huge flock of completely wild Dragons flew over the Beor mountains. Their intentions were simple: to eat. The humans, on their side of the Beors, were all gone and was their only source of food. The alpha male, a huge grey dragon almost twice the size of Glaedr was their leader. He decided to take his flock over the Giant Mountains in search for more food.
They settled everywhere; from Vroengard to the Beors and beyond, from the farthest reaches of Du Weldenvarden to the tip of Surda. The alpha made his home inside the mountains in the Hadarac desert since he quite enjoyed the heat, along with his many, many, many mates. He had over 100 mates, actually, making a very strong race. All females would fly to Vroengard to lay their eggs, and when they were strong enough would teach them to hunt before they were allowed to go off on their own and find a mate for themselves (often one of their distant relations).
The elves rejoiced in this, until the dragons began to feed. In days the human population dropped dangerously, and they fought to stay alive. All the leaders got together and decided it would be Thorn's duty to teach them how to behave like proper dragons and NOT eat the 'two-leggeds'. Queen Izlanzadi, Kin Orrin, King Orik (and his Queen), Queen Nasuada, King Murtagh and Thorn all went to the Alpha's lair. The place was littered with human bones along with about one thousand captives the dragons were fattening to feed to the Alpha Dragon.
They all tried very hard to get the dragon to understand but he became aggressive and gobbled up everyone there, including Thorn. Now he had a taste for both Elf meat and Dwarf meat. Elf meat was so sweet, but Dwarf meat was so thick and juicy.
The humans and dwarves thought it was time to exterminate these vicious monsters and save their own species but the elves were bent on trying to find a way to cooperate with them and make peace. All races were at each other's throats... who would be victorious? What will happen now that nobody has any leaders? It is chaos, and now these burdens are on your shoulders.
