((Whether this is what Erin Hunter thought this would be accurate or not, I can't say, but I always had sort of a vision on how the Clans came to be.)) ((Hope you like it.))
The hollow was dark except for a faint gray light that poured down illuminating a silver pool. The pool was surrounded by rocks, which were flanked with shrubs and bushes. Stars gleamed with light and the bushes twitched.
A cat emerged his eyes glowing with an emerald green gaze. His body was strong and lithe as his spotted coat glimmered in the starlight. Yes, he was one of the ancient cats, a Leopard. He and the two other great cats would meet to create the four Clans of the forest.
Why four? Because there were three great Clans, and there was one of the warrior ancestors; StarClan. It was only a moment until a huge golden head emerged from the shadows, the great mane of lion showing silver in the moonlight.
"So you have come Lionstar" the Leopard spoke quietly.
"Of course Leapordstar, it was agreed was it not, that new Clans must be created if our kind is to survive" Lionstar answered calmly.
It was only a moment later when another sound of paw steps could be heard. The orange and black striped coat of another great Cat could be seen as he emerged from the bushes.
"You're late Tigerstar" Leopardstar meowed with a touch of coldness in his voice.
"Never mind that now Leapordstar, we are all here, let us begin" the tiger meowed.
Lionstar stepped forward and he looked deep into the pool, his amber eyes glowing. The thoughts in his head reflected in the water, and the others saw cats that were smaller, than they, but still golden in there pelts, and the toms still displayed the proud manes of LionClan. You could see the muscles under their coats, and Lionstar stepped back and raised his head proudly.
"I knew you would never give up your symbol Lionstar" Leapordstar purred in amusement. The spotted cat stepped forward and looked down into the pool. The image of Lionstar faded, and turned into smaller cats, creeping through the trees, their pelts flecked with black, and their tails swathed in black rings. No manes adorned these cats, but the golden fur remained somewhat the same.
"We are all proud of our Clans are we not Leapordstar" Lionstar meowed calmly. They had to agree on what these cats would look like, what their abilities would be, and how they would live together.
"Certainly Lionstar" the spotted cat meowed calmly.
"It is my turn now I think" Tigerstar meowed. He stepped forward and dipped his head over the pool. The image of the tree climbing cats vanished, and they saw again smaller, cats creeping through the thick foliage, their eyes gleaming. Massive claws were unsheathed as they hunted prey. Faint black stripes curled about there pelts, but they were a mixed colors of gold, white, brown, and black. They blended with the foliage well, and the great Cats watched as they hunted prey with excellence even in the dim light.
"Well thought out Tigerstar" Lionstar commented, his busy tail flicking. "A mix of pelt colors so we can tell the cats apart, and good weapons."
"Is this our decision of how are new cats should look" Leapordstar meowed loudly. "Do we all agree?"
"I do" Lionstar meowed dipping his head.
"As I do" Leapordstar meowed.
"I do" Tigerstar spoke. He stepped forward and meowed in a louder voice, "Now it is time to bestow what gifts we will upon our cats." He fell silent and stepped back.
Lionstar stepped forward and he looked into the pool. "I grant these cats the love of the sun's warmth, and the strength of all their warrior ancestors." At once the pool rippled and the images changed into cats that were basking upon the sun, but there muscles clearly were shown.
He stepped back, and bowed his great golden head. Tigerstar walked forward and looked deep into the pool. "I give these cats the gift of night sight, and the gift of speed to catch the swiftness prey." At his words the water swayed and they saw cats running to catch the dawn, their eyes glowing brightly. Their legs lengthened out, and they seemed able to catch the stars.
Tigerstar bowed his head and stepped back. Now Leapordstar walked forward and looked into the pool. "I give these cats the gift of cunning, and the knowledge of herbs to heal the wounds that come with war." The pool shook at the words and they watched as cats walked near those that lay wounded, pressing herbs into wounds, and carrying for the ill. Leapordstar dipped his head and stepped back.
"Now for the matter of even greater importance, we must write the warrior code for these cats to follow, for without something to hold their honor to, they are worth nothing."...
