This is a true story of my cat.
Once upon a time in a place far far away called the Philippines, an orphaned one week old orange tabby kitten roamed the streets looking for a dry place to rest. He was shivering in the cold.
Suddenly a large scary alley cat spied the young kitten, thinking to have some fun. He jumped at him and raked his long sharp claws against the kitten's soaked pelt. The orphan cried out in pain. For the final touch, the alley cat bit into his tail so hard that half of it was ripped off. The kit was miserable the rest of the night. He wanted his mom of dad, he wanted food, and he wanted a home. As he lay there on the ground shriveled up into a sad ball of fluff, A 12 year old boy named JD, (My cousin) spotted him on his way back from school. Being an animal lover, he gently lifted the injured kitten and brought him home. There he dried him off and nursed his tail until it was fully healed. They decided to name him Tuffy, because they never thought any kitten could be so tough. He was a great part of their family. He learned to play and to trust humans. But one day, JD's family had to move-to another country for their Mom's work. Tuffy had planned to come with, but the airport decided that he could not go with his loving family. His family would miss him very much, but they had an Idea of where he could go. They sent him off to Aunt Sara (My mom) so her and her daughter (ME)could take care of him. We soon learned to love our mischievous cat, and we couldn't bare to let him go when JD's family moved back. We let him out of the house all day because we trusted him to come home. That was the way it went until one day he didn't come home. We searched for him everywhere. I put up signs everywhere, but no one replied. That was when we lost hope. Now I tell myself that he was a cat like, Firestar who learned the ways of a warrior in his own clan.
