Long ago, in a world where every person can take the form of an animal, the kingdom of Zalia and the Veren Empire began to wage war on each other. For years, the war waged on, until, after a time, the reasons it had begun were long forgotten. The only thing that kept the war going was their hatred for each other. Eventually, Aletia became the ally of the Veren Empire, and Ilyx the ally of Zalia. The land and the people inhabiting it is now divided, split in two.
A hundred and fifty years after it began, the war still goes on. The huge battles of the beginning of the war are rare now, but there are still many small scuffles along the borders, and almost no communication between Veren and Aletia, and Ilyx and Zalia. Things have been at a stalemate for decades, both sides refusing to give in to the other.
But there are people who seek to end it, in all the kingdoms, through both peaceful and violent means. But there are also those who will not let it end, until one country has come through as the victor. Will any be able to stop this war? And if they do, will the people be willing to forgive each other?
