The sun was beginning to set, it's colors casing a bloody hue in a pale blue sky, but there was still plenty of light to see by. Especially for Sparkspirit's eyes, which had been trained since birth to pierce the darkest nights. The she-cat prowled through ShadowClan territory, her feet silent as she glided across the peaty earth, her dark feet seeming to disappear into the earth.
The she-cat had somewhat recovered from her traumatic experience on the Thunderpath, but several long scars trailed down her flank, and several patches of hair were still missing where her skin had been ripped clan off. Luckily, none of the bones had been to badly damaged and her senses were as sharp as ever. Besides looking like a mess, it was as if she'd never tried to kill herself.
The she-cat skirted around the Thunderpath, senses focused to avoid another near-death failure. The pain she'd endured during the last episode was enough to keep her from making a repeat attempt.
Sparkspirit was straying abnormally close to the WindClan border. Whether she was looking for trouble to prove she was still in prime fighting condition or looking for some cat not of her clan, a cat she could talk to without having ShadowClan drama brought up., even she didn't know. All she knew was that she wanted some kind of encounter with another cat, or even some kind of ferocious bast. She hadn't had a good tussle with a fox since her younger warrior days.
The thought made Sparkspirit realize that she wasn't as young as she used to be. In fact, she was older than most of the deputies and even Rainstar. There was only one deputy older than her. Ivypelt. Wouldn't it be something to run into him on her stroll?
