What is literate role playing?
Role playing is when you write through the eyes of a character and interact with others who are writing through their characters in order to create a story.
How do I choose a name?
Clan Cats: you need to follow a particular formula. You will need to pick a name root (for example, my root is "Frost"). As a kit, your name will be ___kit (ex: mine was Frostkit). Then as an apprentice, your name will be ___paw (ex: mine was Frostpaw). Warriors, Deputies, and Medicine Cats pick the ending (ex: mine was Frostbite). Leaders names are ___star (ex: mine is Froststar).
Non Clan Cats: you can choose any name you'd like, as long as it is not profane, though I would suggest something that goes along with your personality, and perhaps has to do with the forest (ex: Silence, Mud, Claws).
How do I choose a personality?
Just be creative. Either model the cat's personality after your own or someone you know, or after a character from a book that you are familiar with (just be careful of copyright infringement). BUT YOU CANNOT CREATE A GODLIKE CHARACTER, OR ONE WITH SUPER OR UNREALISTIC ABILITIES. That's against the rules.
You can create a bio on this board by following the example thread. This is optional, but recommended.
What are those pictures in other members' profiles and below their posts?
The one beside the profile is called an avatar and the one below the posts is called a banner. You can get these from other members on the Arts section of the forum in Out of the Woods, but they aren't required.
Are there rules about IC posting?
Yes. You can read about them in The Rules.
